Firstly, I want to acknowledge the sources of the two images above. If you hadn't already figured, the first one is symbolising networked and the second is symbolising global learning. The second image is found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/jonobacon/15137398537 the first photo is by Gary Hayes on Flicker, which I found on Flexspan a blog by Alistair Crewman.
So what do I think Networked and Global learning is then?
Networked I think has two meanings - the ability to be online, connected to the network. As well it means being connected to others through knowledge, especially endless knowledge, good or bad knowledge because knowledge can be created and displayed by anybody who has access to the technology and the knowhow to share that knowledge.
Global learning I believe means anybody can learn anyhow, regardless of whether they are connected or not. As well global learning could also mean learning about the world - not just your backyard.
The two words together Networked and Global learning then could mean the ability to be online, connected to the network and a network of people globally, learning anything your heart desires, provided that you have the ability to connect to that network and the ability to know how to use those resources to learn.
I am a highly visual learner (which is kind of comical when you read this blog as it has a lot of words and not very many pictures), however I searched for networked and global learning on Youtube. I think Youtube is a brilliant place to start and I use this resource frequently. I found the following video which accompanies the second picture I was talking about. I do believe though, in a round about sort of way, that this video displays networked and global learning.
